3/10/2016 0 Comments Where do ideas come from?A friend replied to a conversation, quoting what he said was a famous line. It was so offbeat, it struck my fancy to make something that might lead into it. Within about 15 minutes, the poem below was completed. And if you know the author or the story behind the very last line, "everyone was wearing tutus but nobody was dancing" please let me know. I'd like to give the authorship. I tried researching online, but couldn't find it. But everything before then is mine. Where do ideas come from? Almost everywhere and everything. The trick is to act on them instead of ignoring or forgetting them. As you give them place through action, you become more free to think them. P.s. It sometimes works best to start small. Many have grand ideas for a big project. But you may want to write a one page story or a poem before you try to start that novel! Try it & see what you come up with.
, Just before Christmas and the elves were all done, They had labored on toys until they had finished each one. So they decided to party with punch, snacks and food; The reindeer of course got caught in the mood. And they broke out the gifts that were excess last year; Lots of clothing, of course, but it was colorful gear. The boy elves and reindeer did not want to be gruff So went along with wearing the mostly young princess stuff They had just set the needle to the long-playing LP When they heard heavy footsteps and knew Santa would be Coming through the door to check on the line And they thought to surprise him because they knew they were fine. So just as Santa rushed in they all froze in their prancing He saw everyone was wearing tutus, but nobody was dancing!

This blog is dedicated to the process of writing: The selection of topics, or perhaps how topics select themselves, the creative thought behind the process, and then the forming of those thoughts into written form. But writing has no impact if there is no reader. So this site is also dedicated to the process of making connections with you, the readers. Hearing some of your stories. Hearing what connects, and seeing how your connection makes further connections for all of us, often, I would guess, unanticipated ones. And so the adventure continues and grows. I look forward to the dialogue.
